Bio:  Mattie Reid Chicago came about back in 1999 when I was living in Chicago and attending school for fashion design.  We had a project where we had to create a design name for ourselves.  I could not think of anything, but my great grandmother.  Her name was Mattie Reed.  I changed the spelling of her last name to Reid and added Chicago to the end.  Wa la!  Mattie Reid Chicago was created. 

Right now I focus on infant apparel however, I am going to branch out soon and add accessories as well as toddler designs based off of vintage garments. 

With regard to the onesies, I can make anything requested.  If you don't see it, send me an email and I can make it!  I love special orders!!

All items will have our black "Mattie Reid Chicago" woven label attached on the garment, will have Mattie Reid Chicago hangtags, will be wrapped in tissue paper and will be shipped in a brown box (just like the box above) and tied with brown twine rope.  We also make little giftcards which are attached to the box as well.

Who inspires you?   It's not a matter of who, it's what. Beautiful things inspire me. Smells and sounds almost always remind me of something and that inspires me. My son inspires me.

Favorite music (indie or otherwise)?   I'm pretty open in this category. I love all music except radio country. I cannot stand that stuff.

Favorite food?   I love Thai, Japanese, and interesting salads.
